Nothing says to you “I feel old” faster than a few innocent comments from young men.

Young Men: “Woah, Mrs B. Did you MAKE that Chex Party Mix?”
Me: “I did”
Young Men: “We’ve never knew you could make it homemade!”
Me: “It’s a recipe from the olden days.”
Young Men: “Woah!”
So funny! Sad, but true, isn’t it? Sometimes it can feel that with our cultural gains, we’ve lost a fair amount as well. Chex mix and beyond!

Chex mix is always a staple here at 906 Cherry Lane. Wait until they see you roll out a pie crust. Their eyes pop out like what’s going on??

I assure you that if I ever rolled out a pie crust, everyone’s eyes would pop out. 🙂

The was great! and I had a similar experience recently – well last year – a friend’s son was over and offered to put out stuff for “muddy chez mix” and he curled his nose and asked what else we could make – lol….
but great little story for the prompt. 🙂

Chex mix is amazing though! How could they not have heard about it??

Oh, they’ve heard of it but they just thought it was made by someone at the General Mills factory. They had no idea moms all over America were making it first. : )
